What is power cycling?
If you own any type of Wyze product, you may have heard the term “power cycling” before. But what is power cycling? Power cycling is simply restarting your Wyze device. This can be done by unplugging the device from the power source and then plugging it back in. Follow the below steps to Power Cycle Wyze Camera
Step 1: unplug the Wyze camera from the power source
If your Wyze camera isn’t working properly, the first thing you should do is unplug it from the power source and then plug it back in. This is called a power cycle and it can often fix minor issues.
If your camera still isn’t working after a power cycle, you may need to factory reset it. This will erase all of your settings and you’ll have to set up your camera again from scratch. To do this, press and hold the reset button for 3 seconds.
If your Wyze camera isn’t working properly, one of the first things you should try is resetting it by unplugging it from the power source. This is also known as a power cycle.
To do this, simply unplug the camera from the power outlet or USB port it’s connected to. Wait for at least 30 seconds, then plug the camera back in. Once the camera has restarted, check to see if the issue has been resolved.
If not, there are a few other things you can try, such as restarting your router or updating the Wyze app. However, if none of these solutions work, you may need to contact Wyze support for further assistance. Wyze is not recording or streaming

If a power cycle doesn’t fix your Wyze camera, you can try resetting it to factory settings. This will erase all of your custom settings, but it’s worth a try if nothing else is working.
To reset your Wyze camera:
- Open the app and go to Settings > Advanced Settings.
- Tap Factory Reset.
- Enter your PIN (if you re using a PIN).
- Tap OK.
- You ll see a confirmation screen saying Factory Reset Successful.
- Tap OK again to confirm.
- The app will reboot the camera.
- Wait for the camera to reboot and it should be working again!
Step 4: wait for the Wyze camera to power on and reconnect to the network
If your Wyze camera isn’t working as it should, one troubleshooting step you can try is power cycling the camera. This means turning the camera off and then back on again. Here’s how to do it:
- Unplug the power cable from the Wyze camera.
- Wait 30 seconds.
- Plug the power cable back into the Wyze camera.
- Wait for the Wyze camera to power on and reconnect to the network. This may take up to a minute or two.

My Wyze camera is offline. What should I do? If your Wyze camera is offline, it s not working as it should, one troubleshooting step you can try is power cycling the camera. Power cycling a Wyze camera means unplugging the power cable from the back of the Wyze camera, waiting 30 seconds, and plugging it back in. You should also check that the Wyze camera is connected to your Wi-Fi network. To check this, open the Wyze app and go to Settings > Check for New Devices. If the camera s not connected, try removing it from your network and adding it back again.

To factory reset your Wyze camera:
- Unplug the power cable from the camera.
- Wait 30 seconds.
- Plug the power cable back into the camera. Note: The camera’s indicator light will turn red while it is booting up. When you see a blue light, the camera is fully booted and ready to use.
- Try using the camera again. If this doesn’t resolve the issue, try resetting your Wyze app to its factory defaults: Open the Wyze app and tap Settings .
